The Center for Watershed Protection is seeking a highly skilled Public Works Specialist to provide expert advice and technical assistance to our clients. As a Public Works Specialist, you will serve as a subject matter expert, providing professional guidance and support on public works, utilities, and engineering issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical assistance and advice to clients on public works, utilities, and engineering issues.
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Represent the client's viewpoint to regulatory agencies and provide engineering support for grant applications.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging issues and problems in public works, utilities, and engineering, and provide innovative solutions to complex issues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Five years of experience in a municipal public works or engineering department, a state engineering department, or a private engineering consulting firm.
  • Three years of experience as a municipal engineer, public works director, or comparable related leadership position.
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations pertaining to public works, water, and wastewater operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze data, develop innovative solutions, and communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
