Responsibilities:

Position Summary:


In alignment with CommonSpirit Health's mission, and under the guidance of the Operational and/or Medical Director, the healthcare support specialist will assist licensed medical personnel in preparing patients for various services. This role requires the application of fundamental administrative, clerical, and technical skills.


Qualifications:

Minimum:
Completion of an accredited medical assistant training program.

BLS certification is required within 90 days of employment.

It is important to note that this position mandates quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. Ongoing competency must be maintained through internal resources; external RQI competency certifications are not acceptable for compliance purposes.

Ability to transition swiftly between tasks independently.

Effective communication skills with colleagues, staff, and supervisors.

Capability to understand and execute instructions accurately.

Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

Proficiency in reading, writing, and comprehending instructions in English.

This role involves direct interaction with patients.

Computer literacy with the ability to type accurately at a moderate speed.

Preferred:
1-3 years of experience as a medical assistant is preferred.

Experience in a specific clinic specialty is advantageous.

Certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred.

Bi-lingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
