Healthcare Support Specialist for Detoxification Services

Work Schedule:
As a 24-hour Recovery Center, we provide flexible shift options to suit your availability:
  • Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.
  • Evening Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM.
  • Overnight Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM.
Note: You will be assigned to one of these shifts, and flexibility to work varying shifts is essential.

Compensation: $25 to $30 per hour, depending on experience.

Position Overview:
The Healthcare Support Specialist plays a vital role within the interdisciplinary team, focusing on client safety. This position involves providing detoxification-related services, ensuring the safe and appropriate administration of medical treatments as prescribed by healthcare professionals. Responsibilities include:
  • Maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
  • Responding to emergencies and taking necessary actions.
  • Observing, documenting, and maintaining records of clients' health status.
  • Familiarity with common detox assessments.
  • Effective time management and crisis intervention skills.
  • Adhering to HIPAA regulations in all duties.
  • Monitoring clients during self-administration of medications.
  • Participating in shift change reports as assigned.
  • Following medication management policies and procedures.
  • Reporting any changes in client behavior or condition to supervisors.
  • Adapting to frequently changing project scopes while maintaining structured priorities.
  • Entering data accurately into electronic systems.
  • Exhibiting professionalism, punctuality, flexibility, and reliability.
  • Demonstrating excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Handling sensitive information with integrity.
  • Employing strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Collaborating effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Possessing knowledge of chemical dependency and psychological disorders.
  • Understanding detoxification protocols and related care.
  • Demonstrating cultural humility and responsiveness in working with diverse populations.
  • Performing other assigned duties as necessary.

Qualifications:
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (e.g., AAMA/CCBMA).
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • CPR Certification.
  • Preferred: One year of experience in a substance abuse treatment environment.
