Position Summary:
We are seeking an Ophthalmic Care Technician to support a bustling ophthalmic practice that prioritizes quality and compassionate care for patients requiring comprehensive eye care services.
Key Responsibilities:
This role necessitates strong customer service abilities, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a degree of independent decision-making.
Essential ophthalmic tasks include:
- Collecting and documenting patient medical histories
- Assessing visual acuity
- Conducting automated refraction
- Administering prescribed eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions
- Performing administrative duties and clinical tasks, including data entry into EMR systems
- Measuring intraocular pressure (tonometry)
- Preparing patients for surgical procedures
- Maintaining and managing equipment and instruments
Qualifications:
2 to 3 years of experience as an ophthalmic or optometric technician is preferred.
Certification as a COA is advantageous.
Reliable transportation is required for travel to various locations.
Flexibility in traveling to different sites is essential.
Attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality are crucial.
Willingness to seek guidance in unfamiliar areas and the ability to identify inconsistencies are important traits.
Education/Certifications:
High school graduation from an accredited institution is required.
