Job Overview

The Gale South Beach, Curio Collection by Hilton is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals for the role of Front Desk Agent. In this position, you will oversee daily operations at the Front Desk, manage essential tasks and checklists, fulfill guest requests, and serve as a representative of the hotel and its brand.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Welcome and check-in guests upon arrival, ensuring accurate registration by verifying reservations, addresses, and payment details.
  • Process payments for guest accounts during registration and at checkout. Maintain a secure house bank and provide daily reports of receipts. Handle currency exchange and cash checks for guests.
  • Manage safety deposit box access and post miscellaneous charges as needed.

Attendance and Compliance:

Consistent attendance in accordance with established standards is crucial for success in this role. Employees with irregular attendance may face disciplinary measures, including potential termination.

Due to the nature of the hospitality sector, employees may need to work varied schedules based on the hotel's operational needs. Attendance at all required training sessions and meetings is mandatory.

All employees must adhere to the rules and regulations set forth by Menin for the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities. Violations may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.


ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

Alongside the primary responsibilities, this role may involve performing various supportive tasks, as determined by management based on the hotel's specific requirements.

  • Assist the concierge with mail and fax handling, and provide guests with information about hotel amenities and local attractions.
  • Book reservations for guests approaching the Front Desk.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Ability to read and write to facilitate effective communication.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computational skills and computer literacy.
  • Familiarity with the local area and its attractions.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the hotel, its services, and facilities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Most tasks are performed indoors with a controlled environment.
  • Ability to stand and perform tasks for up to 4 hours continuously.
  • Capability to navigate the hotel efficiently.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 15 lbs.
  • Requires manual dexterity for operating office equipment and performing various tasks.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and colleagues.
  • Extended periods of time may be spent using a computer.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience

One to two years of experience in a Front Office role within a hotel setting is preferred.
