Administrative Coordinator

The University of Pennsylvania seeks an Administrative and Programmatic Coordinator to join its School of Engineering and Applied Science. This role will provide administrative support to the Bioengineering department, with a focus on event planning and coordination. The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling meetings, coordinating events, and providing administrative support to the department chair and junior faculty.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the department chair with meeting scheduling, travel reimbursement, and administrative tasks.
- Coordinate and plan events, including seminars, lectures, and receptions.
- Provide administrative support to junior faculty, including onboarding and business process navigation.
- Maintain records for faculty recruitment and promotions.
- Collaborate with the SEAS Events and Operations team to schedule event space and provide logistical support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Event management experience in higher education or a hospitality environment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a focus on problem-solving and discretion.
