Job Summary

The Yurok Tribe is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Wellness Housing Coordinator to join our team. This is a full-time, non-exempt position that will be responsible for the day-to-day management and coordination of staff, programs, and activities related to wellness housing, including the Coming Home House.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement policies and operating procedures for housing programs and services related to Yurok Tribal Court Wellness and Reentry programs.
  • Implement internal and external reporting systems and procedures for monitoring and controlling programmatic activities.
  • Develop program staff career and training plan requirements to improve job-related effectiveness.
  • Monitor case management operations, groups, and activities to ensure timely and effective service provision.
  • Ensure files are up to date with applicable program requirements.
  • Serve as lead for participant case staffing and attend regular court hearings and agency proceedings as needed.
  • Prepare status reports for the Yurok Tribal Court, Yurok Indian Housing Authority, and other courts and agencies as needed.
  • Develop community resources for participant services, such as employment counseling, housing, and anger management.
  • Attend conferences, meetings, and committees as the Yurok Tribal Court representative.
  • Oversee and complete necessary intake and orientation for new program participants.
  • Monitor, initiate, coordinate, and refer clients for UA testing and inpatient and outpatient treatment options.
  • Maintain general knowledge of substance use disorders and treatment, including Medication for Opioid Use Disorder.
  • Serve as liaison between Yurok Tribal Court team members and outside agencies.
  • Attend Yurok Justice Advisory Board meetings to provide updates on wellness housing activities.
  • Provide guidance and supervision of Yurok wellness housing staff and contracted team members.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with two years of job-specific experience.
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Excellent organizational and case management skills.
  • Proficient in using a PC for data entry and research (Microsoft Office, Excel, Access).
  • Knowledge of facilities or agencies that provide services to Native populations.
  • Knowledge of the Yurok Tribe and its surrounding communities preferred.
  • Ability to work beyond normal Court hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Recognition of the importance of understanding Yurok history, culture, and values.
