Position Overview
This role is a Limited Term position for 12 months, with the possibility of extension up to 24 months or conversion to a permanent role. Under the supervision of the Senior Psychologist or Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker, the Therapeutic Recreation Specialist is responsible for the design, execution, and assessment of recreational therapy programs aimed at enhancing the well-being of individuals within correctional facilities.

Key Responsibilities
The Therapeutic Recreation Specialist will:
- Develop and implement individualized and group recreational therapy sessions.
- Monitor and document the progress of participants in therapeutic activities.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to integrate recreational therapy into comprehensive treatment plans.
- Ensure the safety and security of all participants during therapy sessions.

Qualifications
- Education: A degree from an accredited institution with a focus on recreation or therapeutic recreation, including supervised field experience.
- Certification: Must possess or be eligible for certification as a recreation therapist by relevant professional bodies.

Working Conditions
- Travel may be required as part of the role.
