Compensation: $63 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of the Director, the Clinical Pharmacist will be tasked with maintaining a comprehensive understanding of all pharmaceutical services offered by the facility, which includes:

  • Executing all medication dispensing functions, including entering medication orders into the patient profile system, preparing, labeling, and dispensing medications in accordance with physician prescriptions, and compounding both oral and injectable medications using appropriate aseptic techniques.
  • Engaging with physicians to address any inquiries or discrepancies related to medication orders, and documenting all recommendations and actions taken in a clinical intervention report.
  • Participating in antibiotic stewardship initiatives by reviewing relevant culture and sensitivity data, as well as laboratory results, to make informed therapeutic recommendations.
  • Involvement in clinical activities such as attending interdisciplinary team meetings, participating in patient rounds, conducting medication management education, mentoring pharmacy students, and addressing drug information inquiries.
  • Staying updated on industry developments and trends that pertain to assigned responsibilities, serving as a resource for other departments, and contributing to professional activities or projects.
  • Consulting with medical and nursing staff regarding drug availability, formulations, side effects, and potential interactions, while maintaining a comprehensive drug literature resource for professional staff.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current state licensure as a Pharmacist is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One or more years of experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is preferred.
