Role Overview:

We are looking for a Buyer/Planner to join our Production Planning Department. This role is pivotal in optimizing our sourcing processes for components, materials, and services to align with customer demands and INFICON's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage production schedules for designated product lines to fulfill customer delivery expectations while adhering to established lead times.
  • Procure electro-mechanical assemblies, ceramics, cables, and precision machining components, and oversee production line scheduling, production order releases, and Kanban system maintenance.
  • Integrate Quality and Lean principles into the procurement process.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Customer Service, Purchasing, and Product Line Managers regarding order status and production planning challenges.
  • Implement Engineering change requests related to assigned products.
  • Source materials to meet quality, pricing, inventory, and delivery standards utilizing MRP systems. Maintain accurate ERP system data for assigned business lines, suppliers, and items.
  • Support Supplier Evaluations and Scorecard processes, including occasional supplier visits.
  • Manage daily supplier relationships and lead improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in cost-saving initiatives to support business objectives along with other daily operational tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Engineering is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, production planning, or procurement roles.
  • Proven ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to ensure timely delivery.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Supply Chain pull systems is highly advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to foster relationships internally and externally.
  • Self-driven with the capability to manage multiple tasks in a collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrated urgency in supporting customer needs and company objectives.
  • Familiarity with MRP and/or Purchasing and Planning systems is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP (MM and PP modules).
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies.
