Role Summary
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician plays a crucial role in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of testing and assembly equipment within INFICON's production and laboratory environments. This position involves supporting the transition of products from engineering development to full-scale production. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, collaborating effectively with production technicians and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair existing production testing equipment, including turbo molecular pumps, roughing pumps, and vacuum components.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with industrial electrical systems, including motors, variable AC drives, and PLCs.
  • Assist the Manufacturing Engineering and Automation & Test Engineering teams by assembling and validating various fixtures and testing systems.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering teams to understand product assembly and testing during the Engineering Pilot phase.
  • Provide insights to engineering teams to enhance manufacturability during the New Product Development process.
  • Participate in the Production Pilot phase, ensuring a seamless transition to production floor technicians.
  • Address production floor issues in collaboration with the Manufacturing Engineering team, focusing on build and test procedures.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance processes for production floor equipment.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by effectively addressing challenges that arise in a manufacturing setting.
  • Engage regularly with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Automation Test Engineering departments.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of an Associate's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Technology, with over 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in maintaining and repairing production equipment.
  • Strong collaborative skills in a team-oriented environment.
  • Preferred experience in high cleanliness and high tolerance manufacturing settings.
