Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician is tasked with the repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of testing and assembly equipment within INFICON's production and laboratory environments. This role also involves the assembly and testing of products as they transition from engineering development to full-scale production. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, collaborating effectively with production technicians as well as the Manufacturing Engineering and Automation & Test Engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the production team by maintaining and repairing existing production testing equipment, including turbo molecular pumps, roughing pumps, high purity gas lines, leak valves, dosing valves, vacuum flanges, and other components.
  • Diagnose and repair components of industrial electrical systems, such as motors, variable AC drives, PLCs, field wiring, and sensors.
  • Collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineering and Automation & Test Engineering teams to assemble and validate various fixtures and testing systems before production implementation.
  • Engage with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Automation & Test Engineering teams to learn the assembly and testing processes during the Engineering Pilot phase of New Product Development.
  • Provide constructive feedback to Engineering teams to enhance the manufacturability of INFICON products during the New Product Development phase.
  • Assemble and test products during the Production Pilot phase, ensuring a seamless transition to production floor technicians for future full-rate production.
  • Work closely with the production floor and Manufacturing Engineering team to address production-related issues that pertain to Manufacturing Engineering responsibilities, including build and test procedures, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineering team to identify and develop robust preventative maintenance processes for production floor items lacking necessary maintenance protocols.
  • Ensure satisfaction for both internal and external customers by effectively addressing issues that arise in a manufacturing setting.
  • Engage daily with INFICON's Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Automation Test Engineering departments.
