Job Overview:

We are currently seeking a Buyer/Planner to join our Production Planning Department. This role is pivotal in strategizing the sourcing of components, materials, and services to fulfill customer demands while aligning with INFICON's corporate goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and manage production schedules for designated product lines to ensure timely delivery and compliance with established lead times.
  2. Procure electro-mechanical assemblies, ceramics, cables, and precision machining parts while coordinating production line schedules and maintaining Kanban systems.
  3. Integrate Quality and Lean principles into the procurement process.
  4. Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Customer Service, Purchasing, and Product Line Managers to address order status and production planning challenges.
  5. Implement Engineering change requests relevant to assigned products.
  6. Source materials that meet quality, cost, inventory, and delivery specifications using MRP systems, while maintaining accurate ERP data for assigned business lines, suppliers, and items.
  7. Support Supplier Evaluations and Supplier Scorecard initiatives, including occasional supplier visits.
  8. Manage daily relationships with suppliers and lead improvement initiatives.
  9. Engage in cost avoidance and cost-saving projects to support business objectives.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Engineering. A minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, production planning, or procurement is essential.

Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Supply Chain pull systems is highly desirable, along with a proven ability to implement Lean Practices.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to foster relationships both internally and externally are crucial. Candidates should be self-motivated and capable of managing multiple tasks in a collaborative environment, demonstrating a sense of urgency to meet customer needs and corporate objectives.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with SAP (MM and PP modules) and knowledge of Six Sigma principles are advantageous.
