Patient Access Lead

Job Summary:
Guidehouse is seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Lead to join our team. As a Patient Access Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful client relationship and client strategies to ensure quality measures are met for patient care. This position will also supervise on-staff personnel and monitor compliance with State and Federal laws and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Registration: Accurately collect demographic data and explain required documents to patients at the time of registration.
- Collection and Insurance: Accurately document insurance information and assist patients with explanation and collection of co-payments and self-pay deposits.
- Operations Oversight: Maintain a positive working environment and high morale that reflects the philosophy of the service area and Guidehouse.
- Supervision: Oversight of operations in the absence of Department Supervisor.
- Training and Development: Assist with training of all newly hired employees.
- Financial Counseling: Meet with patients to resolve questions regarding their billing statements and provide financial counseling and assist patients with payment options.
- Account Reconciliation: Assist with account reconciliation and merges.
- Patient Escalations: Assist with patient escalations.
- Support Frontline Operations: Support frontline operations as needed (e.g., staff shortages).
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by hospital organization focused on Financial Counseling, Cashiering, and Customer Service.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Three (3) or more years patient access experience or equivalent healthcare experience in a hospital/medical/clinical setting.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of medical terminology.
