Are you an organized and dynamic professional with outstanding customer service abilities? The Ventura County Health Care Agency is in search of a meticulous Patient Access Representative and Medical Office Assistant to enhance our patient-centered care model at the Ventura County Medical Center and Santa Paula Hospital.

The Patient Access Representative serves as the initial point of contact for patients, playing a vital role in ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience within our facilities.

Your responsibilities will include greeting patients warmly, managing phone inquiries, scheduling appointments, and handling patient information efficiently. Your efforts will be essential in supporting our commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare services.

This recruitment may also serve to fill future vacancies for Emergency Room Medical Office Assistants. The Emergency Room Medical Office Assistant supports registered nurses and physicians by managing external calls, facilitating patient transfers, and responding to patient inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients both in-person and over the phone.

  • Compile and maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Handle financial transactions and collect co-payments.
  • Communicate effectively with the patient care team to address patient needs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in waiting areas.

Qualifications:

Education and experience requirements include clerical experience in a medical setting, familiarity with medical terminology, and proficiency in handling patient information.

Desired qualifications include bilingual skills, particularly in Spanish, and the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
