Quality Assurance Inspector

Chipton-Ross is seeking a dedicated Incoming Inspector to join our team for a contract opportunity. The primary role of the Incoming Inspector is to meticulously assess incoming materials and products to ensure they meet the specified standards and inspection criteria established by our clients and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of incoming materials/products to determine acceptance or rejection based on established specifications, while consistently meeting or exceeding weekly lot requirements.
- Utilize Thermo Fisher Scientific's enterprise resource planning (ERP) system for material transactions.
- Promptly escalate any quality issues or findings to the Supply Chain, Quality Leadership, and Manufacturing teams.
- Manage nonconforming materials/products by appropriately placing them into Material Review Board (MRB) status.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing inspection accuracy and efficiency.
- Adhere to internal procedures and guidelines during all inspection activities.
- Assist in the calibration activities of equipment and tooling.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in metrology, finished product inspection, or related fields. High-level assembly experience may be considered as a substitute for finished product inspection experience.
- Proven experience in quality inspection and maintaining accurate records.
- Proficient in computer and system applications necessary for efficient and accurate transaction of inspected materials and lots.
- Strong competency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
- Familiarity with ERP systems is essential.
- Ability to read and follow written procedures and work instructions accurately.
- Effective communication skills in both written and verbal formats; knowledge of manufacturing processes is a plus.
Inspection Duties:
- Measure and compare machined or fabricated parts against technical drawings and specifications.
- Evaluate completed product assemblies for fit, finish, and functionality in accordance with design specifications.
- Inspect kitted products for completeness and accuracy relative to established standards.
- Complete necessary documentation, including Quality Assurance Inspection Reports, and maintain accurate logs of information.
- Communicate findings regarding nonconforming items with urgency and clarity to relevant staff, assisting in problem resolution.
- Demonstrate interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with coworkers, peers, and management.
- Utilize precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers with skill.
- Possess visual acuity for aligning optical images and intermediate proficiency with multimeters and basic electronic equipment.
Education Requirements:
Accredited High School Diploma/GED is required. An Associate's degree in a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position with hours from 5:30 AM to 2:30 PM, with potential for overtime.
