Position Overview:

Chipton-Ross is seeking a dedicated Incoming Inspector for a contract opportunity. The primary responsibility of the Incoming Inspector is to meticulously evaluate incoming materials and products to ensure they meet the specifications and inspection criteria established by the client, supplier, or customer.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough inspections of incoming materials/products for acceptance or rejection based on established standards and specifications, ensuring compliance with minimum lot requirements.
  • Utilize Thermo Fisher Scientific's enterprise resource planning (ERP) system for material transactions.
  • Promptly escalate any quality issues or findings to the Supply Chain, Quality Leadership, and Manufacturing teams.
  • Manage nonconforming materials/products by appropriately disposing of them into Material Review Board (MRB).
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing inspection accuracy and efficiency.
  • Adhere to internal procedures while performing inspection tasks.
  • Assist in the calibration activities of equipment and tooling.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in metrology, finished product inspection, or related fields. High-level assembly experience may be considered as a substitute for finished product inspection experience.
  • Proficient in quality inspection and maintaining accurate records.
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with system applications for efficient and accurate information transactions regarding inspected materials.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
  • Experience with ERP systems is essential.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow written procedures and work instructions.
  • Effective communication skills in both written and verbal formats; knowledge of manufacturing processes is advantageous.

Inspection Duties:
  • Measure and compare machined or fabricated components against specifications and drawings.
  • Evaluate completed product assemblies for fit, finish, and functionality against established criteria.
  • Inspect kitted products for completeness and accuracy according to standards.
  • Complete necessary documentation, including Quality Assurance Inspection Reports, and maintain accurate logs.
  • Communicate urgent quality issues clearly and concisely to relevant personnel and assist in problem resolution.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with coworkers and management.
  • Utilize precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers with skill.
  • Possess visual acuity for aligning optical images.
  • Have intermediate proficiency with multimeters and basic electronic equipment.

Education Requirements:

An accredited High School Diploma or GED is required. An Associate's degree in a related field is preferred but not mandatory.


Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position with working hours from 5:30 AM to 2:30 PM, with potential for overtime.
