About the PositionThe Quality Assurance Inspector II is tasked with conducting initial, in-process, and final evaluations of products within designated areas of responsibility.
Key Responsibilities- Promotes a safe working environment by adhering to established safety protocols
- Conducts thorough inspections of products at various stages (incoming, first/last piece, in-process, and final) to ensure compliance with specified standards, including aesthetic, dimensional, and functional criteria
- Interprets technical documents, including blueprints and specifications, to execute inspections and testing procedures
- Identifies and marks non-conforming items, facilitating their proper segregation
- Determines the disposition of non-conforming items as directed by the material review board (MRB) or other designated authorities
- Selects appropriate measuring tools based on the characteristics being assessed, utilizing Go/No Go gauges, optical comparators, and various precision instruments
- Maintains accurate records of all inspections and tests performed, whether in paper format or electronically, as required
- Engages in root cause analysis as part of an 8D or CAR process in response to quality issues or internal audits
- Ensures all work is performed in accordance with departmental documentation and Quality Management System (QMS) standards
- Performs additional duties as assigned
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to solve fundamental mathematical problems
Physical Requirements
- Requires a range of physical activities including standing, walking, sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling
- Requires coordination of eyes, hands, and feet
- Must be able to lift items weighing up to 40 pounds
- Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Hearing protection is mandatory in designated areas
- Eye protection is required in marked zones
- Prescription glasses used as safety eyewear must meet ANSI Z87+ standards
- Steel-toed footwear is necessary in specified areas
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- A two-year technical degree is preferred
- Two years of experience in quality assurance within a manufacturing setting is preferred
- Minimal travel (up to 5%) may be necessary
