Job Overview: The Housekeeping Public Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of all public spaces within the hotel. This role is essential in creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests, ensuring that all areas such as lobbies, restrooms, and offices are kept in pristine condition. The attendant is expected to embody a positive image of the establishment, demonstrating friendliness, honesty, and professionalism.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Adhere to all established cleaning standards for public areas.
  2. Utilize appropriate cleaning agents for various surfaces, in compliance with safety regulations.
  3. Prioritize cleaning tasks based on assigned areas.
  4. Transport cleaning supplies and equipment securely to designated locations.
  5. Dispose of waste and recycling appropriately.
  6. Maintain cleanliness in offices, hallways, and restrooms.
  7. Ensure restaurants and banquet facilities are clean and well-maintained.
  8. Polish furniture and fixtures to uphold aesthetic standards.
  9. Vacuum and clean elevator interiors.
  10. Keep exterior areas free from litter.
  11. Clean carpets and upholstered furniture using appropriate equipment.
  12. Wash walls and ceilings, and rearrange furniture as necessary.
  13. Perform floor maintenance including sweeping, mopping, and polishing.
  14. Dust and polish metal fixtures and surfaces.
  15. Access offices for maintenance and cleaning as required.
  16. Inspect furniture for damages and report issues to maintenance.
  17. Ensure cleanliness of doors, windows, and other surfaces.
  18. Safeguard public areas and manage lost and found items responsibly.
  19. Be knowledgeable about fire and emergency protocols.
  20. Adapt to evolving cleaning responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Strong physical stamina and mobility.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Experience in hotel or hospitality environments is preferred.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods.
  • Attention to detail and efficiency in task completion.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items up to 100 lbs.
  • Familiarity with safe chemical handling practices.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Integrity and honesty in all interactions.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
