Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow all standards specified in the Public Area Standards, including the use of correct cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces, according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.
  • Clean assigned public areas by priority, including lobbies, restrooms, telephone areas, front desks, and offices.
  • Transport cleaning supplies, amenities, and linens to assigned areas and position them securely.
  • Empty trash containers and recycling bins, and ensure the confidentiality and security of all public areas.
  • Clean offices, hallways, and restrooms, as well as restaurants and banquet halls.
  • Polish furniture and fixtures, and vacuum and polish elevators.
  • Keep the front of the hotel free from trash, and clean rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner, broom, and shampoo machine.
  • Wash or clean walls and ceilings, move and arrange furniture, sweep, mop, scrub, wax, and polish floors.
  • Dust and polish metal work, and inspect the condition of all furniture for tears, rips, or stains, reporting any damages to maintenance.
  • Remove dust, spots, and smears from all doors, drapes, windows, ledges, frames, baseboards, AC units, corners, and telephones.
  • Ensure the security of any assigned public areas and turn over any lost and found items from public areas to the supervisor or Security.
  • Be knowledgeable of hotel fire and emergency procedures, and perform other essential public area cleaning duties as operations change in the future.

Requirements:

  • Physical mobility and stamina required, ability to follow instruction, detail-oriented, professional attitude is required, ability to work independently.
  • Previous hotel-related experience desired, ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours).
  • Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow through, courtesy, cooperativeness, and work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to exert physical effort consistent with cleaning an industry standard, ability to grasp, bend, and stoop, push or pull heavy loads weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Knowledge of proper chemical handling, punctuality, and regular and reliable attendance.
  • Honesty and integrity, ability to work weekends and holidays, and meet flexible schedules and day offs.
