About the Role:

The Area Manager is a key leadership position within Expedia Group, responsible for leading a team focused on account development and relationship management within an assigned sales territory. As an Area Manager, you will develop talent and support your team in delivery of revenue and/or KPI goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Market Managers and Associate Market Managers in the assigned sales territory.
  • Coach team to develop and drive sound recommendations based on insights from data analysis to optimize hotels in the Expedia Group marketplace.
  • Help team members prioritize and link daily work to partner needs and broader objectives.
  • Provide constructive feedback and coaching to encourage ongoing development.
  • Lead the execution of overall territory strategy and business plans to meet or exceed key targets, goals and/or strategic objectives set by Travel Partnerships and Media (TPM) leadership.
  • Manage workloads to ensure all team members are fully deployed and skills are matched to work requirements.
  • Cultivate effective partnerships both internally and externally creating a shared journey across teams to execute business initiatives.
  • Provide ongoing input to senior management in developing effective and scalable solutions to improve process efficiencies.
  • Develop and monitor measures to ensure the organization's products, services, and solutions continue to perform against partner needs/expectations.
  • Oversee a small number of key accounts and/or local hotel chain relationships in designated territory/country(s).
  • Nurture relationships with key decision makers.
  • Hire and onboard new team members.
  • Prioritize team morale, inclusive culture, productivity, and celebrate team wins.
  • Represent Expedia Group in assigned sales territory and establish relationships with key local influencers (e.g. tourism bureau/board, hotel/government association, etc.).
  • Conduct regular self-learning to improve skills and influence.
  • Direct internal regional projects or other reasonable duties, as/when required.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in account management, partner/client success, consultative sales, or related field.
  • 0-3 years of people management experience.
  • Works autonomously and collaboratively with a diverse team.
  • Evaluates performance regularly, identifying learning needs.
  • Has a strong understanding of the territorial influences and partner demands to identify key opportunities.
  • Understands complex offerings and coaches teams to tailor solutions to meet the unique needs of the Partner.
  • Flexible to travel for partner visits a minimum 20% of the time.
  • Experience in influencing at scale.
  • Proficient in English language skills.
  • Passionate about travel.
