Job Overview

The Housekeeping Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in assisting with the management and coordination of housekeeping activities within designated areas. This position involves supporting the inspection of guest accommodations to ensure they meet established cleanliness standards, aiding Room Attendants as necessary, and providing essential training. In the absence of the Housekeeping Supervisor, this role will assume all supervisory responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years of progressive experience in hospitality or a related sector is required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Relevant college coursework is advantageous.
  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred.

Job Duties:

  • Engage with guests and team members in a courteous and service-oriented manner.
  • Adhere to attendance standards as outlined by Aimbridge Hospitality, with scheduling that may vary based on hotel needs.
  • Maintain exemplary personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the designated uniform and name tag while on duty.
  • Comply consistently with Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Conduct daily inspections of staff performance within assigned areas to ensure standards and productivity are upheld.
  • In the absence of the Housekeeping Manager or Assistant Housekeeping Manager, inspect all VIP rooms and communicate their status to the Front Office.
  • Oversee the orderly closing of floors at the end of the day, ensuring Room Attendants' carts are clean and restocked with linens.
  • Ensure daily assignment records are completed, signed, and submitted to the Housekeeping Office punctually.
  • Manage key control systems effectively.
  • Assist in supervising all Laundry and Housekeeping staff, holding them accountable for their performance.
  • Handle lost and found items in accordance with established standards.
  • Be well-versed in all Aimbridge Hospitality policies and House Rules.
  • Ensure that all associates remain attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests, managers, and fellow associates.
  • Maintain the overall cleanliness and organization of staff areas.
  • Carry an active pager/radio to stay in contact with the Front Office and/or Engineering throughout the shift.
  • Supervise the daily assignment of duties, ensuring each Room Attendant and House Attendant has a designated task.
  • Monitor the cleanliness and organization of Room Attendants' carts, linen closets, control closets, stairways, and landings.
  • Report daily on the status of all out-of-order rooms under the supervision of the Housekeeping Department to the Guest Services Manager.
  • Initiate work orders for repairs and maintenance, following through until completion.
  • Assist in the effective training of Room Attendants.
  • Motivate, coach, and counsel staff as necessary.
  • Collect all keys and assignment sheets at the end of each shift.
  • Attend meetings as required by management.
  • Ensure the completion of regular maintenance and cleaning projects on a biannual basis.
  • Monitor all VIP guests and special requests.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.
