Radiology Operations Associate

Position Overview:
Under the supervision of the radiology department head or designated personnel, this role is essential for managing communication, patient registration, and scheduling for a variety of radiology services. The position encompasses a range of clerical responsibilities, including the collection and documentation of patient data, appointment scheduling, record management, and providing assistance as needed within the radiology unit.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Comprehends and adheres to the performance standards, policies, and expected behaviors of White Plains Hospital.
2. Follows established scheduling protocols.
3. Alerts relevant staff regarding any changes to the planned schedule.
4. Remains available to work during emergencies or as departmental needs arise, including holidays, overtime, and various shifts to ensure adequate coverage.
5. Maintains cleanliness and organization of all workspaces, equipment, and supplies, reporting any equipment malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
6. Produces CDs as required.
7. Conducts routine office tasks, such as answering phone calls, documenting patient requests, and utilizing Meditec or hospital RIS systems and PACS digital imaging systems.
8. Informs transport services when patients are ready for pickup or return.
9. May serve as an instructor or mentor to new staff.
10. Demonstrates knowledge and skills in patient care across various age groups, including neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.
11. Performs additional related duties as assigned and participates in staff meetings and training sessions.
12. Responsibilities and working hours may adjust based on departmental or hospital needs.
13. Effectively prioritizes and organizes workload to ensure timely completion of tasks.
14. Coordinates follow-up on customer service and satisfaction issues as directed.
15. Notifies supervisors regarding the need for office or clinical supplies.
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- General proficiency in typing, computer usage, and medical terminology is preferred.
- Recommended traits include being a motivated individual with strong communication and organizational skills.

Physical and Mental Demands:
- May encounter chemicals necessary for job functions; information on hazardous materials is available through the hospital's safety data sheet database.
- Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
- Regularly utilizes computers to access information.
- Frequently scans documents from various sources.
- Communicates with physicians and other hospital staff regarding information requests and assists with basic charting procedures.
- Ability to view and print records from microfilm.
- Occasionally retrieves documents from nursing units.

Salary Range: $39,923.72 - $59,885.48
