The Radiologic Mammography Technologist plays a vital role in delivering high-quality imaging services in an outpatient setting. This position requires working under the guidance of the Radiology administrator to ensure optimal patient care and safety.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct routine and specialized imaging procedures.
- Prepare and position patients effectively for examinations.
- Assist radiologists during imaging procedures as necessary.
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Implement radiation protection protocols to safeguard patients and staff.
- Adhere to established radiology standards and practices.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to patients and their families.
- Engage in quality assurance activities to uphold imaging standards.
- Process and manage imaging reports accurately.
- Attend ongoing training sessions and departmental meetings.
- May provide services at various offsite locations as required.
- Eligible for certification incentives based on performance.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited allied health education program.
- New York State Department of Health Licensure or Limited Permit is mandatory.
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Radiologic Technologist (RT).
- Successful completion of advanced mammography certification examination.
- Commitment to ongoing continuing education.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- Adherence to the radiation dose pledge as outlined by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
