Job Overview:

The Payroll Clerk will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll. This position is responsible for maintaining payroll records, verifying employee work hours, handling deductions, and resolving any discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and verify employee timecards or timesheets.
  • Enter and update payroll information in payroll software.
  • Calculate and process payroll, including overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and files for auditing purposes.
  • Prepare payroll reports for management as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date employee payroll information, including personal details, pay rates, tax information, and other deductions.
  • Process new hires, terminations, and changes in employee status.
  • Address and resolve payroll discrepancies, such as overpayments or underpayments.
  • Answer employee inquiries related to payroll and provide guidance on paychecks, deductions, and time-off balances.
  • Ensure accurate deduction of taxes, benefits, and garnishments as required.
  • Assist in preparing and filing payroll tax returns.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree in accounting or finance preferred).
  • 1-2 years of experience in payroll or accounting.
  • Knowledge of payroll software (e.g., ADP, QuickBooks, Paychex) and Excel.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
Compensation:

$30-$33/hour DOE

Available paid leave may include Paid Sick Leave, where required by law; any other paid leave required by Federal, State, or local law; and Holiday pay upon meeting eligibility criteria.
