Job Summary

East African Healing Services (EAHS) is seeking a compassionate and organized Housing Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a passion for helping others, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

The Housing Coordinator will be responsible for managing housing programs, assisting clients with their housing needs, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of housing programs, policies, and regulations, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients in finding and securing suitable housing options based on their needs and preferences.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with landlords, property managers, and housing agencies.
  • Conduct comprehensive client assessments to determine housing eligibility and needs.
  • Provide clients with information and guidance on housing programs, policies, and available resources.
  • Coordinate and manage housing placements, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with housing regulations, program requirements, and funding guidelines.
  • Maintain detailed and organized client records, including case notes, housing applications, and follow-up documentation.
  • Facilitate communication between clients, landlords, and service providers to resolve issues and ensure successful housing placements.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups with clients to ensure housing stability and address any ongoing needs.
  • Participate in community outreach and education efforts to promote EAHS's housing programs and services.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to enhance service delivery and program outcomes.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports and data analysis for program evaluation and improvement.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in case management, community support, or mental health services is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of housing programs, policies, and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with database management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
