Division - Infrastructure

Position Type: This role allows for hybrid work arrangements, including telecommuting options.

The Infrastructure Division is dedicated to ensuring reliable access to electricity, water, and telecommunications services by evaluating the capabilities of utilities and their infrastructure.

The division comprises three main sections: Engineering, Infrastructure Analysis, and Mapping.

The Engineering Section is responsible for assessing and recommending routes for new electric transmission lines, evaluating requests for new generating facilities, and analyzing utility costs related to facilities and operations.

The Infrastructure Analysis Section focuses on service area modifications for water and electric utilities, addressing issues related to distressed water utilities, and overseeing energy efficiency programs.

The Mapping Section utilizes geographic information systems to maintain service area boundary maps and respond to data requests.

We are seeking a Project Engineer who is passionate about the utility regulatory sector and eager to enhance their expertise in engineering tasks related to infrastructure challenges. Responsibilities include applying engineering principles to assess technical issues and providing insights on facility planning, construction, and maintenance within the electric and water sectors.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

Project Engineer

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in engineering or a related field; Texas Engineer in Training Certification; and a minimum of six years of relevant experience in electrical engineering within the utility sector.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in electrical engineering.
  • Texas Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification.
  • Experience as an expert witness in regulatory proceedings.
  • Prior work experience with a regulatory body.

Veteran's Preference:

Veterans and Reservists with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
