Key Responsibilities:
1. Management of SBEC Rulemaking: This position plays a crucial role in facilitating the adoption and review of SBEC regulations. Responsibilities include refining agenda items and rule texts for clarity, identifying potential conflicts, ensuring compliance with relevant statutes, and advising staff on the Administrative Procedure Act (APA) requirements.
2. Relationship Building: The manager will engage professionally with teams, maintaining a strong customer service focus to address the unique needs of various stakeholders. Anticipating issues and proactively seeking solutions is essential.
3. Team Collaboration: Promoting a positive team culture is vital. The manager will interact with team members to identify and implement priorities, assume leadership roles when necessary, and ensure effective communication.
4. Public Communication: Enhancing public awareness of SBEC rulemaking is a key duty. This includes guiding stakeholders through the rulemaking process and ensuring timely updates on the agency's web platforms.
5. Liaison Duties: The manager will act as the agency's representative with the Secretary of State's Texas Register Office, overseeing legal filings and managing communications with Texas Register editors.

Qualifications:
- A degree from an accredited four-year institution.
- A minimum of four years of experience in program planning and implementation, preferably within a state agency's administrative rulemaking context.
