Senior Director, Commercial Operations

Element Science, Inc. is a medical device and digital health company focused on developing innovative solutions to address leading causes of death and hospitalization in patients with heart disease. Our personalized digital devices aim to redefine the paradigm of care for these patients.

Job Summary:

The Senior Director, Commercial Operations will oversee all aspects of the supply chain function within a Durable Medical Equipment (DME) environment. This senior leadership position is responsible for building and implementing strategies to optimize supply chain efficiency, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting the company's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute supply chain strategies that support the company's overall business objectives.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the supply chain team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Oversee all aspects of reverse logistics, including product returns, refurbishments, recalls, and disposal.
  • Develop and implement efficient processes for handling returned products to minimize costs and maximize recovery value.
  • Lead the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, ensuring alignment between sales forecasts, production planning, and inventory management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to balance supply and demand, optimize inventory levels, and improve service levels.
  • Develop and implement inventory management strategies to ensure optimal stock levels, minimize excess inventory, and avoid stockouts.
  • Ensure all supply chain activities comply with relevant regulatory requirements and quality standards.
  • Implement robust quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of product quality and safety.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Extensive experience in the DME industry or other highly regulated environments.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing reverse logistics, S&OP, and inventory management functions.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and quality standards related to medical devices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools.
