Job Summary:

The Director of Environmental Services is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our community building, equipment, and grounds. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills to manage a team and ensure compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive cleaning and maintenance schedule for the community.
  2. Supervise and train a team of maintenance staff to ensure they are equipped to perform their duties effectively.
  3. Manage the budget and resources for the Environmental Services department.
  4. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding environmental services.
  5. Develop and maintain a safety program to prevent accidents and injuries.
  6. Conduct regular inspections to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  7. Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and excellent customer service.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a maintenance position.
  2. Ability to read and write English, and follow verbal and written instructions.
  3. High school diploma or equivalent required; college education preferred.
  4. Certification/ licenses in one or more of the following trades (plumbing, electrical, HVAC) is strongly preferred.
  5. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
  6. Good physical health and ability to perform assigned tasks.

Working Conditions:

  1. Requires ability to stand and walk short and long distances for extended periods of time.
  2. Must be able to lift 50 pounds to waist height and 40 lbs to shoulder height.
  3. Must be able to push 200 lbs. on a cart with casters.
  4. Ability to remain calm and positive in stressful situations.
