Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operations of the Accounting Department, including general ledger management, financial closing, tax planning, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll processing.
  • Maintain accurate accounting journals, ledgers, and financial records.
  • Process accounts payable data, investigate discrepancies, and manage unpaid invoices.
  • Establish new client and vendor accounts in accordance with established policies.
  • Compile and enter receipts, invoices, and account information accurately.
  • Manage the processing of outgoing checks and invoices based on company criteria.
  • Conduct all necessary reconciliations for accounts, banks, and other financial activities.
  • Handle art sales and artist payouts in alignment with gallery procedures.
  • Assist in generating periodic financial reports, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Support the preparation of monthly budgets and forecasts, reporting significant variances to the executive team.
  • Monitor customer and vendor accounts for accuracy, reconciling differences through effective communication.
  • Process payroll and maintain payroll records, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
  • Facilitate audits by providing necessary documentation and records.
  • Recommend updates to accounting software and procedures to enhance efficiency.
  • Prepare financial reports by analyzing and summarizing data.
  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures to minimize risk.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in accounting management, preferably with QuickBooks.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • CPA or CMA designation is a plus.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Proficient in tax filings and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and management.
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check.
  • Knowledge of GAAP principles and practices.
  • Valid Driver's License with proof of insurance and vehicle registration is required.
