Position Overview


This role is pivotal in executing intricate accounting functions that ensure accurate tracking of revenue and expenses for the business unit. Additionally, it involves delivering insightful data analytics to bolster operational decision-making.

Key Responsibilities


1. Facilitate accounting operations during the month-end financial closing, which includes reviewing invoices, payroll (both hourly and salaried), equipment profitability, and subcontractor agreements to ensure compliance with corporate deadlines and regulatory standards.


2. Collaborate with various operational finance sectors (payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, etc.) to gain a comprehensive understanding of daily, weekly, and monthly financial tasks.


3. Partner with operational teams (Construction, Materials, Equipment, Quality, etc.) to enhance internal processes through Continuous Improvement initiatives.


4. Assist in cross-training team members across different operational finance functions to maintain sufficient backup for all roles.


5. Ensure timely processing of accounting and job cost data through multiple systems, upholding internal controls and meeting financial deadlines.


6. Prepare, assess, and post journal entries to support the monthly closing activities.


7. Provide financial guidance to the business unit regarding budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning, including tracking Revenue, Gross Profit, and SG&A.


8. Develop, maintain, and analyze financial and statistical models to support operational decisions.


9. Aid in internal audits across all business functions to ensure adherence to established internal controls and compliance with corporate policies.


10. Review financial statements to verify the accuracy and clarity of information presented to management.

Qualifications


- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline is required.


- 3-5 years of experience in Budgeting, Financial Reporting, or Accounting.

Skills and Competencies


- Strong understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).


- Proficient in managing detailed information and preparing comprehensive reports.


- Excellent organizational skills to meet strict deadlines.


- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.


- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve collective goals.


- Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with internal stakeholders.


- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.


- Familiarity with Oracle JD Edwards Enterprise 1.

Physical Requirements


The physical demands of this position include regular communication, frequent standing, walking, and sitting, as well as the ability to operate a computer keyboard. Occasionally, the role may require lifting or moving items up to 10 pounds.
