Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:

The Global Operations Controllership team collaborates closely with Global Operations FP&A teams and business partners to oversee financial processes and controls effectively. This role is pivotal in standardizing procedures and establishing a robust operational controls framework. Key activities include supporting accounting functions and financial reporting while ensuring compliance with GAAP. This position aims to minimize control deficiencies, including adjustments and documentation gaps.

  • Manage monthly and quarterly closing processes for global operations, ensuring adherence to internal controls while coordinating with corporate accounting and global operations FP&A teams.
  • Identify and implement process enhancements by utilizing best practices, standardization, and automation to optimize routine activities and maximize efficiency.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation for all operational accounting processes, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and desktop procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with Global Ops FP&A and corporate accounting teams to refine operational accounting practices and controls, enhancing data quality and communication of outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with all SOX requirements and implement reporting mechanisms for validation.
  • Conduct quarterly reconciliations of operational balance sheets and reporting, ensuring appropriate support for all balance sheet accounts, including aging balance reviews.
  • Collaborate with Global Operations and IT to ensure that system implementations align with financial needs and controllership standards.
  • Support Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting and develop improved methodologies for tracking the operational execution of the control framework.
  • Coordinate data and reporting necessary for all internal accounting reviews.
  • Assist Global Operations projects and key initiatives as defined by Global Operations finance.
Qualifications:

Required Skills:
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting or a related field (public accounting experience is preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles, control processes, and business operations.
  • High levels of curiosity, self-motivation, and accountability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating effectively with all management levels and diverse teams.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in SAP (ERP), advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with Snowflake and Tableau is preferred.
  • Ability to critically analyze data for reasonableness, proper accounting, and consistency.
  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking abilities.
