Compensation Information

The salary range for this position is between $132,810 and $204,636, depending on experience and qualifications.

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer to contribute to critical projects focused on national security. As part of our engineering team, you will provide expertise in space mission engineering, supporting both security initiatives and scientific research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize advanced RF and electromagnetic simulation tools such as ADS, CST Microwave Studio, and HFSS for the design and analysis of antennas and RF front-end modules.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of satellite telemetry, tracking, and command (TT&C) systems.
  • Evaluate RF communication systems, assessing the implications of component replacements on orbital requirements.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop technical proposals for spacecraft missions, including subsystem specifications and project estimates.
  • Engage in the RF engineering design process for spacecraft subsystems, from initial concept through testing and validation.
  • Conduct complex analyses to support programmatic objectives, addressing novel challenges as a resource for system engineers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities for Advanced Level

  • Lead the development of innovative RF engineering solutions to address complex technical challenges.
  • Oversee the RF engineering path to flight, ensuring spacecraft health and performance during launch and early operations.

Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a DOE Q-level security clearance with SCI access.
  • Bachelor's degree in RF/electrical engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of TT&C, communications, and RF sensing systems.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Proven ability to devise solutions for complex problems requiring analytical skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and technical presentations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in RF/electrical engineering or related field.
  • Familiarity with space mission engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience in aerospace engineering, particularly in the design and testing of flight hardware.
