Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist II to join our team at Akoya Biosciences. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing all activities and communication for procurement of sub-level components, Lab Services, and R&D components for Internal Manufacturing for our reagents and biologicals business as well as support our Instruments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all procurement activities related to procurement of inventory and R&D projects, including requesting quotes, organizing, and maintaining all procurement activities.
  • Maintain data in ERP system for all purchase orders and inventory transactions, including attaching quotes, confirmations, shipping notifications, etc. into the purchasing record.
  • Evaluate vendor quotations to ensure quality, price, delivery, and service that meet Akoya standards.
  • Prepare, issue, and maintain purchase orders, and track procurement for R&D specific projects for regular communication to the project team.
  • Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy, and accuracy on price, and acceptability of items made to specifications.
  • Manage and maintain the internal manufacturing Kanban system, and interact closely with cross-functional internal and external teams, including providing updates on any purchase order due dates.
  • Regular meetings with Purchasing Manager for alignment on open tasks and projects, and arrange for addition or de-activation of SKU's in the ERP system in conjunction with CMO Managers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Business, Operations, Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years related materials management and supplier management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated success overseeing procurement and supply chain processes, and experience in medical device industry is strongly preferred.
  • ERP expertise; Netsuite preferred, and attention to detail is a critical skill for this position.
  • Experience with GMP- or ISO-certified operations required, and effective and demonstrated success in sourcing in compliance with Quality.
  • Effective and innovative problem-solving skills, and demonstrated success managing multiple projects and priorities.
  • Demonstrated success holding suppliers accountable to task and pushing back on timelines and fellow staff, and ability to handle and work under stressful situations.
  • Effective relationship management skills, and proven effective verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to use communication methods and strategies that influence desired results, and demonstrated ability to establish and maintain credibility, trust, and positive relationships.
  • Computer skills for practical use with email, word processing and spreadsheets, and CSCMP, APICS or Six Sigma Certification desired.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $90,000 per year, which may factor in various geographic regions. Our full-time regular positions also include an annual performance-based bonus (or a sales incentive plan) and long-term incentive units (equity) provided as part of our compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
