The EHS Specialist for Cytiva is responsible for maintaining compliance and implementation of the EHS management system for all non-manufacturing operations including Service Operations, Commercial, R&D and Lab operations supporting Marlborough MA operations and remote customer support.

This position is part of the Global EHS business operations team located in Massachusetts and will be onsite 3 days/week as a hybrid role. At Cytiva, our vision is, to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide EHS guidance and compliance support to our Cytiva MA campus and remote customer locations in addition to supporting our leaders to ensure compliance with regulatory and program requirements ( do training, Gensuite, document control, and digital tools).
  • Evaluate EHS conditions in strong cooperation with EHS leaders, assess risks and support the development of appropriate corrective action plans.
  • Assist certain assigned aspects (technical, regulatory, reporting, permitting, compliance, financial, administrative, etc.) of Cytiva projects in accordance with relevant regulatory programs and Cytiva policies.
  • Support EHS Leaders to drive key EHS Programs (Risk Management, Lockout Tagout, Contractor Safety, Inspections, etc.)
  • Support for EHS inquiries and share knowledge regarding training, procurement of PPE, ergo equipment and general process information.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Environmental or Safety related science field, technical discipline, or other occupational health related certification
  • 3+ years' experience in assessing and facilitating EHS activities supporting a Site/Commercial/Service organization.
  • Experience with permit management, waste water compliance, chemical management
  • Demonstrated influencing abilities in motivating staff to promote adherence and understanding of EHS business requirements
  • Confident in sharing input and business insights, ideas or improvements to EHS function

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Able to simultaneously manage multiple projects and other responsibilities, adjust to changing priorities and to make decisions with speed and accuracy based on available information
  • Strong capabilities in a life sciences field within a globally diverse, cross-functional, internal and external team across different time zones.
