Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Logistics Supervisor to join our team at Estes Forwarding Worldwide. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient movement of freight, stock, and other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of dock personnel to ensure timely and accurate completion of shipments.
  • Oversee the movement of freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers.
  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
  • Give directions to the dock team on work assignments and provide guidance on instructions given orally and in writing.
  • Handle escalated customer complaints and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Control and maintain all records required for accurate, on-time completion of shipments.
  • Work in a team environment to accomplish work assignments and delegate tasks as needed.
  • Manage employee time-off requests and update their times in the time-keeping system.
  • Manage team schedules and breaks to ensure optimal productivity.
  • Ensure team members are trained on all tasks and processes, and that they are up-to-date on all process changes.
  • Ensure team members follow all company policies and procedures, and that safety methods and programs are implemented and maintained.
  • Support and promote company core values and ensure that team members do the same.
  • Regular attendance is required, and compliance with company C-TPAT and TSA security procedures is essential.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree and 2-5 years of managerial experience in the freight forwarding or transportation industry.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Attention to detail and good follow-up skills.
  • Good judgment and ability to escalate issues when necessary.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based, and job-specific software applications.
  • Proven competence to communicate clearly and persuasively with all levels of an organization.
  • Self-starter with ability to work with little direction in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player with a high level of energy and self-motivation.
  • Excellent spelling, grammar, and written/oral communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects and set priorities.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team setting, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Mentally and emotionally capable of handling a high-stress environment.
  • Ability to interact well with others.
  • Ability to read and interpret general business documents.
  • Ability to write routine reports and general business correspondence.
  • Ability to solve problems with a variety of concrete variables through semi-standardized solutions that require some ingenuity and analysis.
  • Ability to draw inferences and follow prescribed and detailed procedures to solve moderately complex problems.
  • Must be able to pass TSA screening to work in an IAC environment.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check.
