Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Manager to join our team at Top Quality Recruitment (TQR). As a Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the shipping and receiving departments operating in multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and conditions of shipments.
- Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow.
- Determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
- Arrange transportation that optimizes service and cost.
- Inspect incoming materials and notify appropriate staff of potential quality issues.
- Ensure shipping and receiving areas are always organized and clean, meeting all compliance factors.
- Ensure all employees are following in compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations and other company-related policies and procedures.
- Compile and maintain applicable metrics as required.
- Verify customer manifest, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or shipped.
- Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer programs.
- Input data into shipping and receiving schedule.
- Supervise and train personnel to achieve corporate objectives in quality and productivity.
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective shipping and receiving processes.
- Perform root cause analysis on shipping/receiving errors and lead efforts to improve quality.
- Maintain records for all inbound receipts per documented processes as well as non-conforming product, purchase order, or damaged shipments.
- Conduct meetings with assigned staff to communicate company policy, process changes, workloads, safety topics.
- Maintain acceptable production and quality levels to ensure the performance metrics of the business are met.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, preferred or comparable experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of successful managerial leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, running a warehouse department, and/or working in operations.
