Position Overview

The Inventory Control Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of inventory management within the distribution center. Reporting directly to the VP of Distribution, this role involves data analysis, staff management, and ensuring optimal inventory accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the process of inventory destruction and oversee the governance of surplus stock upon receiving necessary approvals.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in physical inventory to ensure consistency with the inventory management system. Generate reports on inventory activities and variances, and analyze proposed adjustments for appropriate actions.
  • Identify root causes of inventory discrepancies and communicate findings to senior management and cross-functional teams.
  • Oversee the physical inventory counting process and implement a successful cycle counting strategy to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure that the cycle count process is systematically completed and provide updates to the Director and VP of Distribution regarding progress.
  • Develop and maintain inventory control methodologies aimed at continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and report on all inventory movements to ensure proper recording and execution.
  • Provide timely and accurate inventory records to the accounting department for month-end close and reconciliation.
  • Track the flow of seasonal products as necessary.
  • Collaborate with management to regularly update standard operating procedures (SOPs) to reflect best practices and ensure staff training is conducted.
  • Work alongside the Safety and Loss Prevention Manager to reduce shrinkage within the distribution center.
  • Maintain a cycle count schedule to ensure accurate and thorough inventory counts during both regular cycles and year-end assessments.
  • Regularly review inventory for expired and obsolete items, communicating findings to upper management.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and train inventory personnel, developing training programs to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Inspire and lead a team of warehouse staff to meet operational objectives.
  • Utilize analytics to assess distribution activities and provide comprehensive recaps as needed.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of management experience in distribution center or warehouse operations; experience in the retail sector is advantageous.
  • At least 5 years of experience in inventory control management.
  • Proficient in advanced analytics using Excel, databases, and business intelligence tools.
  • Experience in developing or enhancing inventory management or warehouse management systems and processes.
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Suite, particularly with intermediate Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and data analysis capabilities, along with excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn various software systems and data analysis tools.
  • Demonstrated project management and continuous improvement skills.
  • A metrics-driven approach to inventory management.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills, capable of engaging with employees, direct reports, cross-functional teams, and executive leadership.
  • Proven adaptability and ability to drive results using data.
  • Detail-oriented with advanced organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, including flexibility for evening and/or night shifts.

Work Environment

  • Employees may be exposed to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and varying temperatures corresponding to seasonal changes.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to communicate effectively, with frequent periods of sitting and typing. The role is physically active, requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. Employees must occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Anastasia Beverly Hills offers a competitive compensation package, including full benefits and a 401(K) plan with matching contributions. The starting base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $105,000 annually, with potential variations based on qualifications, skills, experience, and geographical location. This role is also eligible for bonuses.
