Job OverviewPosition: Financial Consolidation and Reporting Specialist
  • Contract Duration: 3+ Months
  • Compensation: Up to $55/hr

Role Summary:
  • The Financial Consolidation and Reporting Specialist is involved in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes, which includes:
  • Conducting thorough reviews of balance sheet fluctuation analyses across all entities to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Creating a comprehensive monthly balance sheet report for senior management, including insightful commentary and analysis of changes in key accounts such as Accounts Payable, Taxes, Other Assets, and Liabilities.
  • Preparing detailed analyses for the cash flow statement, highlighting year-over-year account changes to support management commentary.
  • Performing monthly reconciliations of intercompany accounts, ensuring proper eliminations on a consolidated basis and drafting necessary adjusting entries as required. This involves monitoring data integrity in consolidations and collaborating with international teams to rectify journal entries and address IT issues.
  • Assisting international finance teams to meet closing deadlines, utilizing performance metrics to identify improvement areas at the entity level and providing support to enhance future closing efficiencies.
  • Engaging in process enhancement initiatives across departments, including streamlining the Chart of Accounts and developing training materials to facilitate the month-end closing process.
  • Contributing to special projects and initiatives as directed by management.

Key Competencies:
  • Expertise in managing global financial closes
  • Experience in financial closing and consolidation processes
  • Familiarity with HFM - Hyperion consolidation software is advantageous
  • Strong accounting background
  • Experience working with balance sheets
  • Proficient in flux analysis
  • Ability to work independently without managerial oversight

Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 1-2 years of public accounting experience or 2+ years in private accounting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Exceptional communication and analytical abilities
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Collaborative team player
  • Willingness to work flexible hours during financial close periods and for special assignments as needed

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in financial consolidation
  • Knowledge of Oracle Hyperion (HFM)
