Job OverviewPosition Summary:
This role is a part-time opportunity (approximately 25 to 30 hours per week) with the possibility of transitioning to a full-time position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of accounts payable.
  • Record weekly revenue receipts using QuickBooks.
  • Oversee payroll functions, including bi-weekly processing through ADP, onboarding of new staff, management of the 401(k) plan, and administration of the New Jersey paid sick leave program.
  • Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and perform periodic financial account analyses.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the annual financial audit.
  • Prepare annual Federal Form 1099 information returns.
  • Assist the Executive Director in identifying, assessing, and applying for potential grants, ensuring timely grant expense reporting.
  • Develop the annual operating budget and conduct program cost analyses for all initiatives.
  • Collaborate with staff to procure program and building supplies in a cost-effective manner.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 3-6 years of experience in nonprofit accounting, with a total of 7 to 10 years in accounting roles.

Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong proficiency in all facets of the accounting cycle.
  • Basic understanding of cost accounting and financial analysis.
  • Experience in budgeting and financial planning.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Technical Proficiency:
  • Proficient in QuickBooks desktop software.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
