Position Overview:
H2M Architects + Engineers, a comprehensive architectural, engineering, and environmental consulting firm, is seeking a Licensed Land Survey Specialist.

The ideal candidate will be tasked with implementing standard surveying methodologies both in the field and in the office to effectively plan, manage, and execute land surveying initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive detailed guidance on specific tasks, objectives, and intricate features.
  • Conduct a variety of in-office and field activities related to land surveying projects secured by the firm.
  • Possess a broad understanding and practical experience in operating surveying instruments, including Total Stations, Data Collectors, GPS RTK, and Static Observations.
  • Precisely compute and document field data.
  • Examine project specifications and strategize fieldwork methodologies and associated costs.
  • Utilize standard scientific and engineering techniques, applying judgment to adapt established methods and practices in both field and office settings.
  • Review and transfer field data.
  • Compile field notes and create sketches depicting existing site conditions.
  • Draft comprehensive daily job reports and engage in regular discussions with supervisors regarding project progress.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot sophisticated instrumentation.
  • Engage in drafting and editing surveys utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience and in-depth knowledge of survey calculations, techniques, and procedures.
  • Strong judgment and organizational capabilities.
  • Professional Land Surveyor License required.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to stand, climb, and walk continuously throughout an 8-hour work period.
  • Capacity to perform physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions.
  • Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn survey-related software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD.

The compensation for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, with potential deviations based on various factors such as experience, specialty, knowledge, education, and certifications.
