Job Overview

Position Summary:

Buckingham Senior Living is looking for a dedicated intern eager to gain practical experience in various aspects of the Human Resources department. This role will provide the opportunity to apply academic knowledge in a professional environment while supporting the daily operations of the HR team under the guidance of the Human Resources Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the recruitment process by posting job advertisements, screening applications, and extending job offers.
  • Assist with onboarding processes, including managing new hire documentation, payroll inquiries, and employee transitions.
  • Help with employee benefits administration, particularly during enrollment periods.
  • Organize and maintain personnel files and prepare documentation for benefits enrollment.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations while adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality in all work-related activities.
  • Be available during emergencies or natural disasters as required.
  • Facilitate new employee orientation, including onboarding, reference verification, and necessary paperwork.
  • Track and assist with mandatory training sessions, immunizations, and compliance certifications as mandated by law.
  • Organize and audit the personnel filing system to ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Manage payroll-related documentation efficiently.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating community events for staff engagement.
  • Update and maintain internal databases and documentation.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the Human Resources Department and support the HR Director with essential projects, presentations, and reports as needed.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled or recently graduated from a degree program with a focus on Human Resources or related fields.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
