Job Overview: The Ladders is seeking a highly skilled Accountant Subject Matter Expert with extensive experience and technical expertise to join our innovative team in the Aerospace and Defense sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and interpret tax regulations while advising on tax filings and business registrations for state, federal, and international obligations.
  • Conduct calculations related to stock option expenses.
  • Review and interpret stock plan documentation.
  • Support the development and establishment of an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
  • Demonstrate knowledge of job cost accounting and monitor indirect rates for discrepancies.
  • Facilitate discussions with both external and internal auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations.
  • Implement policies and procedures to align with new GAAP guidance.
  • Educate staff on stock options and their implications.
  • Assist the CFO in developing comprehensive reporting processes.
  • Perform complex calculations, including those for R&D tax credits.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports and budgets by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing financial data.
  • Calculate recurring journal entries, including depreciation and amortization.
  • Provide guidance and training to junior staff within the Accounting Department.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes by creating written procedures.
  • Assist with general ledger reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Conduct annual variance analysis of the general ledger and present findings.
  • Analyze revenue and expenditure variances and report to management as necessary.
  • Prepare Stock Account Reconciliations to the general ledger and annual employee statements.
  • Contribute to team efforts by completing related tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications:
  • Ability to perform tasks independently with minimal supervision.
  • Over 10 years of experience in accounting or auditing roles.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting information to various organizational levels.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP accounting principles.
  • Project management skills are preferred.
  • Integrity and ethical conduct are essential.
  • Familiarity with stock option expensing and tax regulations.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented.
  • Commitment to continuous process improvement.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions like VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint.
  • Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA License.
  • Understanding of government job cost accounting.
Salary: $165,000 - $205,000 based on qualifications and experience.

Actual salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis considering job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
