Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Audio-Visual Break-Fix Technician who possesses exceptional customer service skills and a strong background in audio-visual technology. The ideal candidate will have an Associate's degree in a technology-related field or a minimum of three years of relevant experience in AV support within a corporate environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret and follow AV system flow diagrams and technical documentation with fluency.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot AV equipment failures, identifying root causes and resolving issues related to integrated AV systems.
  • Utilize Crestron Toolbox effectively.
  • Hold certifications in Crestron DM, Extron, or Cisco as an advantage.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Bi-Amp and Clearone systems, with the ability to modify DSP settings.
  • Possess experience in integrated telepresence and VTC installations.
  • Occasionally use basic tools, lift light equipment, and work from step ladders.
  • Exhibit comprehensive knowledge in various AV fields, including:
    • Projection systems and display devices
    • Crestron control systems and conference scheduling
    • Switching, routing, and interfacing technologies
    • Videoconferencing and audio-conferencing technologies

Essential Skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Technical AV certifications, such as CTS, are advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to collaborate remotely with Control and DSP programmers in the field for program reloading.
  • Capability to lift up to 30 lbs. unassisted throughout the workday and transition between client locations.
  • Experience in wiring and rewiring AV rack equipment for maintenance and replacement.
  • Knowledge of network troubleshooting and commercial IT networks for LAN or WAN, with familiarity in VoIP networking products and PBXs like Nortel, Avaya, Cisco, NEC, ShoreTel, and Mitel being a plus.
  • Working knowledge of operating systems such as XP, Win7, W10, and Mac OS, along with networking protocols.
  • Able to conduct research into networking issues and installation challenges, and manage product returns or exchanges with vendors as necessary.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in servicing and/or installing systems in a client-facing role, with a strong background in corporate support services and problem-solving skills.

Job Requirements

  • Availability for weekend work one to two times a month.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and communicate effectively with management and clients.
  • Consistently project a positive image of oneself and the company.
