Position Overview

A-V Services Inc., a prominent provider in the Audio-Visual sector, catering to various Fortune 100 clients across finance, pharmaceuticals, and technology, is seeking a dedicated Audio-Visual Break-Fix Technician. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional customer service abilities, particularly in a corporate environment, alongside a robust skill set in audio-visual technology. A minimum of an Associate's degree in a technology-related discipline and at least three years of relevant experience in AV support roles is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proficiently interpret and adhere to AV system flow diagrams and support documentation.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot AV equipment failures, identifying root causes and resolving issues related to integrated AV systems.
  • Utilize Crestron Toolbox effectively.
  • Hold certifications in Crestron DM/Extron/Cisco, which are advantageous.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Bi-Amp and Clearone, with the capability to modify DSP settings.
  • Experience with integrated telepresence and VTC installations is beneficial.
  • Occasionally utilize basic tools, perform light lifting, and work from step ladders.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge across various AV domains, including:
    • Projection systems and display devices.
    • Crestron control systems and conference scheduling tools.
    • Switching, routing, and interfacing technologies.
    • Videoconferencing and audio-conferencing solutions.

Essential Skills

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on accuracy and detail.
  • Technical AV certifications, such as CTS, are a plus.
  • Proficient in PC applications, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to collaborate remotely with Control and DSP programmers in the field for program reloading.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 30 lbs. unassisted throughout the day and transitioning between various client locations.
  • Skilled in wiring and rewiring AV rack-mounted equipment for maintenance and replacement.
  • Experience in network troubleshooting, with knowledge of commercial IT networks for LAN or WAN. Familiarity with VoIP networking products and PBXs like Nortel, Avaya, Cisco, NEC, ShoreTel, and Mitel is advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of operating systems such as XP, Win7, W10, and Mac OS, as well as networking protocols.
  • Able to conduct research into networking challenges and installation issues, and manage product returns or exchanges with vendors as necessary.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in servicing and/or installing systems in a client-facing role, with a strong background in corporate support services and problem-solving capabilities.

Job Requirements

  • Availability for weekend work once or twice a month.
  • Consistently present a professional appearance and communicate effectively with management and clients.
  • Maintain a positive representation of oneself and the company at all times.
