Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Senior Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Douglas T. Jacobson State Veterans' Nursing Home in Port Charlotte, Florida. As a Senior LPN, you will provide high-quality patient care to our veteran residents, ensuring their health, safety, and security in accordance with established agency Standard Operating Procedures and Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities
  • Administer medications and perform treatments per MD order
  • Monitor and provide interventions to meet the needs of the resident
  • Complete accurate clinical documentation reflective of resident's status
  • Supervise CNA and other supportive caregivers
  • Assist team members in giving care to patients
Requirements
  • Licensure as a Practical Nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464
  • Current CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Successful completion of the due diligence process, including a Level II background check and drug screen
Preferred Qualifications
  • One (1) year of experience in long-term care/120-bed skilled nursing facility, with a geriatric population
  • One (1) year of experience providing practical nursing services
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records
