Senior Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Florida Department of Veterans' Affairs. As a Senior LPN, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our veteran residents, ensuring their health, safety, and security in accordance with established agency Standard Operating Procedures and Nurse Practice Act.
Key Responsibilities:- Administer medications and perform treatments per MD order, monitoring and providing interventions to meet the needs of the resident.
- Complete accurate Clinical documentation reflective of resident's status and supervise CNA and other supportive caregivers.
- Assign nursing care to team members in accordance with the patients' needs and available staffing.
- Direct and evaluate nursing care provided to patients.
- Assist with orientation of new personnel and coordinate nursing care of patients when scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments/disciplines.
- Licensure as a Practical Nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464.
- Current CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Successful completion of the due diligence process includes, but not limited to, a Level II background check and drug screen.
- One (1) year of experience in long-term care/120-bed skilled nursing facility, with a geriatric population.
- One (1) year of experience providing practical nursing services.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records.
- Excellent retirement package and optional deferred compensation plan.

- Tuition waiver available for State Universities and Community Colleges (up to six (6) credits per semester).
- Position for Senior Licensed Practical Nurse (SLPN) may include a sign-on bonus of $2,000.00, which will be paid out over a two-year period at 6-month intervals.
- The FDVA Nursing State Veterans' Nursing Homes and Domiciliary are designated employment sites for the Nursing Student Loan Forgiveness Program.
