Senior Licensed Practical Nurse Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Florida Department of Veterans' Affairs. As a Senior LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care to our veteran residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer medications and perform treatments as prescribed by physicians
  • Monitor and provide interventions to meet the needs of residents
  • Complete accurate clinical documentation reflective of resident's status
  • Supervise Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and other supportive caregivers
  • Participate in the development of individualized nursing care plans
  • Assign nursing care to team members in accordance with patient needs and available staffing
Requirements:
  • Licensure as a Practical Nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464
  • Current CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • One year of experience in long-term care/120-bed skilled nursing facility, with a geriatric population
  • One year of experience providing practical nursing services
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with patient care software
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to nursing care
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
