We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Senior Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Weekend Warrior Program at the Ardie R. Copas State Veterans' Nursing Home in Port Saint Lucie, Florida.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide quality care to veteran residents, ensuring their health, safety, and security in accordance with established agency Standard Operating Procedures and Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer medications and treatments per MD order
  • Monitor and provide interventions to meet the needs of residents
  • Complete accurate clinical documentation reflective of resident's status
  • Supervise CNA and other supportive caregivers
  • Assist team members in giving care to patients
  • Administer direct care using nursing skills and judgment as needed
  • Evaluate and document the patient's condition and nursing needs
  • Set goals and prescribe appropriate nursing interventions to meet the physical, psychological, social rehabilitative and discharge planning
  • Initiate and share in leadership conferences in development of individualized nursing care plans
  • Assign nursing care to team members in accordance with the patients' needs and available staffing
  • Coordinate other duties as needed
Requirements:
  • Must possess licensure as a Practical Nurse in the State of Florida
  • Must have current CPR certification
  • Must be willing and able to only work evening, night, or weekend shifts
  • Must be knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Successful completion of the due diligence process, to include but not limited to, a Level II Background check and drug screen
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One (1) year of experience in long-term care / 120 bed skilled nursing facility, with a geriatric population
  • One (1) year of experience providing practical nursing services
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records
